## Vedic Math Squares

Squaring can be defined as 'multiplying a number by itself'. There are many different ways of squaring numbers. Many of these techniques have their roots in multiplication as squaring is simply a process of multiplication

### Squares of Numbers

In this tutorials we will deal with finding squares of numbers ending in a particular digit. If our number falls in any of the following categories then the working out the squares of that number becomes very easy. Like numbers ending in 5, 1, 4, 6, big numbers that are close to base, etc.

#### Square of numbers ending in '5'

To find the square of any number ending in five we use the sutra. We get answer in two parts. The RHS part of answer will always be '25' as the number ends in '5', so its square will end in '25'

"By one more than the one before"

#### Square of numbers ending in '1'

This specific rule is followed to find the square of a number ending in '1'

#### Square of numbers last totalling to ten

When the 'digits in unit place add up to 10'  and the 'digits in tens place are same' in both the numbers by taking the square of numbers ending with 5 a little further, along with the use of sutra

"Antyayordasake Pi"
"Last totaling to ten"

#### Square of numbers ending in '4'

This specific rule is followed to find the square of a number ending in '4'

#### Square of numbers closer to the base

For squares of numbers closer to base we use a sub sutra of the "NIkhilam" sutra

"Whatever the extent of its deficiency, lessen by that amount, and set of the square of that deficiency

#### Square of numbers ending in '6'

This specific rule is followed to find the square of a number ending in '6'

In this topic we will be learning to find squares of any random number.  To find out square of number we find 'Duplex' of numbers.
